Fly to Melbourne in three seven hour hops with
a couple of hours in Dubai and Singapore airports
on the way. |
Friday 7th September 2001
Arrive in Melbourne city centre 3am, meet a couple, Alan and Durrell. They take me back to there place in Cranbourne to stay. Go to work with Alan who has a concrete cutting business. Meet the children, Kylie, Aiden and Mikaela. |

Saturday 8th September 2001
Go to work with Alan again. Work all over Melbourne.
Get to see the city in between jobs both commercial and domestic, very interesting. |
Sunday 9th of September 2001
Day in bed with upset stomach. Go to the park with the kids. Family friends Belinda and Simon come over for the evening. |

Monday 10th of September 2001
Durrell and the kids take me to Mornington
to stay with Terri her mum Pat and Peter. |
Tuesday 11th of September 2001
Borrow bicycle from Peter, cycle along the cliff top walk over looking Philip Bay, to Mornington Town. |

Wednesday 12th of September 2001
Go to work with Terri to the vineyard. Borrow her van and explore the bays along the Ocean coast of Mornington peninsula. |
Thursday 13th of September 2001
Cousin Anthonys son Peter comes to Mornington and takes me to Anthony and Helens house in Wandong. |

Friday 14th of September 2001
Spend the day settling in, admiring the views and wandering around the garden. |
Saturday 15th of September 2001
Went to work with Anthony, dropped Helen off at the shop in Kilmore. We went to the market stall. Met Anthonys son Andrew in the evening. |

Sunday 16th of September 2001
Andrew and Linda take me for a walk in the State Forest above Wandong. |
Monday 17th of September 2001
Helen took me to Kilmore to explore the town, the oldest inland town in Australia. |

Tuesday 18th of September 2001
Catch overnight coach to Sidney. Spend the afternoon in botanical gardens. Catch overnight coach to Byron Bay. |
Wednesday 19th of September 2001
Spend a day in Byron Bay relaxing on the beach. Stopped at the "Aquarius" backpackers hostel. |

Thursday 20th of September 2001
Catch coach to Brisbane, then train to Ipswich. Stay with Debbie and her son Asher in Fernvale. |
Friday 21st of September 2001
Visited Debbies friends John and Cynthia at Mount Glorious. John took us on "safari" in his 4WD in the rain forest. |

Saturday 22nd of September 2001
Debbies friend Ross loaned us a two man kayak and we went for a paddle on the upper reaches of the Brisbane River. Later we went to Somerset village for an evening of Irish dance and song. |

Travel to Ipswich via Brisbane Debbie picks me up and takes me back to Fernvale to Koalas in the garden ! |

Debbie takes me to Brisbane where she is judging at a dog show. We later visit her folks to pick up her son Asher then on to Ipswich to a friend Di's 40th birthday party, with fire dancing. |
